DVD. Region 1 only. 112 min. Color.
The first time ever released on video, this is the full-length theatrical production on the life of St. Francis of Assisi that stars Bradford Dillman and Dolores Hart. Shot on location in Assisi, this gorgeous production gives a realistic and inspiring portrayal of the life of Francis and Clare, and how their radical conversions affected all those around them. Directed by Michael Curtiz (Casablanca), this beautiful film is full of vivid color and superb cinematography. It also stars Stuart Whitman and Pedro Armendariz, and it is based on the novel by Louis de Wohl. (Not long after playing St. Clare, Dolores Hart left Hollywood and became a cloistered contemplative Benedictine nun.)
